Challenge
Field Notes had a loyal readership but a fragmented visual identity across print, web and social. The publication needed a system that honoured editorial depth without feeling academic.
Approach
We developed a typographic identity with deliberate tension between warmth and precision. The reading experience was redesigned around rhythm, hierarchy and generous whitespace.

Outcome
Subscriber growth accelerated and average reading time increased. The identity system reduced production time for each issue by standardising layout decisions.
